VCD is not intended for use with web sites, but instead is a format that can be used to transfer your new or old VHS or Video8 (even digital footage) to a regular CD-R which can be played on most newer DVD players and computers. Do you have footage of a live show or past performance? Wouldn't  it be nice to just be able to pop it in a DVD player to watch,  give it to A&R reps., agents, send it out as part of your demo package or give it to family and friends? Once you have the master copy, its very cheap to reproduce it because it uses a regular CD-R....as opposed to the more expensive VHS or DVD media....in which case you would need a DVD burner to make copies. But with VCD....you just need a regular CD and CD burner.
  • The quality of VCD is not as good as DVD. VCD, however,  has its advantages. For example the files can be viewed on a computer that does not have DVD software, its easy to reproduce copies and the media (CD-R) is much cheaper than DVD. At the same time, if viewed on a DVD player you still get the same features...skip, zoom, slow motion, freeze frame etc.,  no rewinding and the ability to go directly to a specific file. (DVD player features vary).

  • Here at DMS we can add animated titles and special effects to your music video clips....such as, venue, year, song title, band members etc. It is also possible to enhance the audio, clean it up, and give it more punch. (results vary depending on quality of original footage).

  • So dig out that analog footage of your Band, decide which songs you want to be placed on VCD, write down title info, send it to us here at DAS. Start enjoying your footage without having to spend hours rewinding and fast forwarding to find the clips you want to see or to show to other people.

DAS  can offer very reasonable pricing for this service. We are much less expensive than any competitor. Your footage is prepared and edited by a musician/graphic artist, so you can be sure there is passion, experience and musical knowledge going into your VCD production.
